Accessibility statement

We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we have done

• Responsive layouts adapt to different screen sizes; we continue to review usability with browser zoom.
• Text is set in dark type on a soft, low-glare background.
• Every photograph and drawing has a text description.
• The menu and the contact form work with a keyboard; every form field has a visible label.
• Photography is displayed without parallax movement, and reduced-motion preferences are respected.
• A “Skip to content” link is available at the top of every page.

Known limitations

Many archive photographs date from earlier decades and are shown at small sizes, true to their original resolution. Some plans and drawings contain fine detail that may be hard to read. If you would like a description of any image, please ask.
